Another one of my musical heroes passed away last week, so I spent my weekend trying to capture him. Not sure how it'll look when finished. I hope I do him justice.
Looks like the marching season is upon us and some of the inhabitants of northern ireland obviously aren't too concerned about pollution. This is a tower of tyres, I can't believe this is where i'm from. I can however, imagine it in the turbine hall of the tate.
Sorry I haven't posted for a while - i've been hanging out in the very beautiful Cornwall, eating Rick Stein's fish & chips and getting beaten up by big waves (body boarding)
This is what I made for an upcoming exhibition called the napkin project. Other people in this exhibition include Rob Ryan, Quentin Blake, The Chapman Brothers, Daniel Eatock and many more. Will post a better photo when I find the lead for my camera.
Sorry there haven't been any posts in a while, i've just got back from Northern Ireland, which funnily enough is where I spotted this sign in a shop window. It made me laugh.
These are a mixture of hand and machine sewn felt squares, i've had some of them framed but am thinking of making more and turning them into cushions or little blankets.
I spent yesterday convincing my boyfriend to get rid of a few of his t shirts. The one's that he really didn't want to let go of i turned into cushion covers. Making them led me onto this idea.
This is some sewing I did for a new interactive site for Herman Dune. It's a brilliant site that enables you to write your own message to a loved one on a giant love heart.
This is the main piece from my degree show, it's a tapestry 3m wide by 2m high which took three and a half months to complete. The idea behind it was to give me something constant to work on while mending my broken heart. It's the lyrics from Uncertain Smile by "The The". When the coloured letters are taken and placed together they form a question.
